Before it became a music project, Shiga was a name carried through virtual worlds. Sergio Correa Martinengo has used the pseudonym across video games since 2006. Over time, it became a familiar part of his identity. Today, it gives a name to something more personal: a space to turn feelings, memories, and questions into music.
Born in Venezuela and now in his thirties, Sergio wants a life with room to breathe. After difficult years, things are beginning to improve, even as ongoing health challenges make the future uncertain. He hopes to feel better. In the meantime, he keeps trying, making space for joy wherever he can find it and treasuring the moments he shares with the people he loves.
His outlook begins with perspective. An agnostic, he sees humanity as a tiny part of an immense universe, and himself as another drop in the ocean. He does not need greatness to give his life meaning. Love, empathy, and peace are enough to build toward: a relationship worth nurturing, a journey worth taking, a conversation that brings people closer, a memory that remains.

His guiding principle is simple: live in the way that feels right to you, as long as you do not harm others. He accepts that life can be unfair and that suffering does not always come with an explanation or a lesson. For himself, he has decided that continuing to try is worthwhile. He holds that conviction with compassion for people who feel overwhelmed by the world; he does not see another person’s struggle as a failure of character.
That is also why he resists toxic positivity. Hope should leave room for pain, uncertainty, and exhaustion. He values honesty over reassuring performances, and patience over pressure. Scams, false promises, self-appointed gurus, and hypocrisy run against what matters to him. He tries to approach life with reason and an open mind, avoiding unnecessary confrontation, cruelty, and judgment.
Nearly a decade working as a caregiver helped shape that patience and his awareness of other people’s needs. It also deepened his appreciation for calm. Rushed demands, constant urgency, and being pulled into unplanned situations can leave him overwhelmed. He values consideration: the willingness to slow down, communicate, and respect another person’s limits.
Music has long been one of the most important parts of his life. Although he does not sing or play instruments, AI has opened a way for him to express himself through songs. Shiga is a hobby project, made for fun, exploration, and the satisfaction of creating something personal. With AI-assisted music production, including Suno, he gives musical form to lyrics rooted in his experiences, emotions, and view of the world.
His curiosity reaches well beyond music. He loves technology, compelling stories, manga and anime, video games, tattoos, and travel. He enjoys learning about other people, sharing his passions, listening, and debating ideas in good faith. What matters is mutual respect: time spent together because both people want to be there, without bullying, belittling, or deliberately hurting one another.
Today, Sergio works as an Outreach Sales Improvement Person and studies full-time at Santa Ana College, working toward an associate degree in AI for Business while considering where that path might lead. He has also worked extensively with businesses on CRM integration, automation, and process improvements. Side projects give him another way to experiment, solve problems, and explore what AI may make possible.
One unusual chapter of his life was the three years he spent earning a living through paid research studies, focus groups, and interviews, earning more than $100,000 over that period. That experience inspired Paid Panelist ↗, a personal project that is currently paused.
Sergio is in a romantic relationship and finds meaning in the life he shares with loved ones. He wants to keep making music, learning, traveling, and growing, while protecting the ordinary moments that make life feel worthwhile. He knows peace cannot be permanent and that difficult days will still arrive. His hope is to meet them with as much clarity, patience, and kindness as he can.
A simple life. People to love. Music to make. Enough peace to enjoy what is here, and enough hope to take the next day as it comes.
